Dockets and pricing for track sawing and wall sawing
Track saw and wire saw jobs carry more than the cut: establishment, the power pack, a section minimum and waiting time. Core Docket prices the cuts per metre by depth and adds the set-up and minimum once per docket, so the office opens a complete draft invoice and checks it.

Cuts priced per metre by depth
Material and depth
Track sawing is priced per metre by material, such as concrete or brick, and by depth, for example 100mm to 700mm. The operator picks the depth and types the metres.
Inverted as a loading
Inverted cuts can be priced as the standard rate plus a percentage, for example +50%. Raise the standard rates and the inverted rates follow.
Wire sawing by the square metre
Wire sawing can be priced per square metre by type, such as general, heavy steel or brick and stone, with a set-up charge per cut where your price list has one.
Establishment and section minimums, charged once
Establishment including the power pack is a set-up fee on the section. The first time a docket uses track sawing, the fee is added once, however many cuts follow. Wire sawing can carry its own establishment the same way, or one charge can cover several sections.
A section minimum works across all the lines in that section. If a short job only does a few metres, the section is topped up to the minimum on the invoice. One minimum can also be shared by track sawing and wire sawing, so a job that uses both is not charged twice. Your company-wide minimum per visit and any after-hours minimums still apply on top, worked out from the job's actual times.
All of this is set once on the rate card. The crew never decide whether to add establishment, and the office never has to remember it.

| Line on the docket | Measurement | Example rate | Example price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Track sawing, concrete, 200mm deep | 18 m | $40.00 per m | $720.00 |
| Track sawing, concrete, 200mm deep, inverted (+50%) | 4 m | $60.00 per m | $240.00 |
| Establishment incl. power pack (set-up fee) | Once per docket | $600.00 | $600.00 |
| Waiting time | 1.5 hours × 2 people | $120.00 per person-hour | $360.00 |
| Total for the docket | $1,920.00 ex GST |
Example figures only. With an $800 section minimum, this docket's $960 of track sawing is already above it, so no top-up is added.
Waiting time and the rest of the day
- Waiting time and standby go on as hours × people, so two operators waiting an hour and a half bill as three person-hours.
- Mark out, clean-up and labour sit in the same labour section, with overtime loadings where you charge them.
- At the end of the docket, time on site is compared with the work recorded. A gap shows while the crew are still there, so the wait for the builder is on the docket before they pack up.
- Photos of the opening and the site contact's signature go on the docket, and the customer gets a PDF copy on your letterhead.

Questions
Can Core Docket add the track saw establishment fee automatically?
Yes. Establishment, including the power pack, is set as a set-up fee on the track sawing section and is added once per docket whenever that section is used.
How does a section minimum work?
A section minimum is the least a docket is charged for that section's lines, such as track sawing. If the cutting comes to less, the invoice is topped up to the minimum, and one minimum can be shared across sections such as track and wire sawing.
Can inverted wall sawing be priced higher?
Yes. Inverted cuts can be priced as the standard rate plus a percentage, such as +50%, so they move with the standard rates when you change them.
How do we charge for waiting time?
Waiting time and standby go on the docket as hours × the number of people. The end-of-docket time check also shows a gap between time on site and the work recorded, so waiting is less likely to be left off.
Can wire sawing be priced per square metre?
Yes. Wire sawing can be priced per square metre by type, with a set-up charge per cut and its own establishment fee if your price list has them.
Is the safety paperwork for a wall saw job included?
Yes. SWMS sign-on, Take 5, toolbox talks and saw pre-starts are included at no extra cost. Every feature is in one plan, with no tiers or add-ons.
