Core Docket vs ServiceM8
ServiceM8 is general job management software for service trades. Core Docket is for trade businesses with crews in the field, and it is strongest where the work is priced by measurement: each docket line is worked out from your price list, minimums included, so the invoice is ready within minutes of the docket being signed.
Free for a month, no credit card. Every feature included: no tiers, no add-ons, free updates.

| Core Docket | ServiceM8 | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing by measurement | Diameter × depth, metres at a depth, holes or hours, worked out on the docket from your price list | Items × quantity |
| Loadings as a percentage | Inverted or suspended slab priced as the standard rate plus a percentage, so a price rise moves both | Not mentioned on their site |
| Minimum charges and set-up fees | Per unit, per section and per docket, applied automatically | Not mentioned on their site |
| After-hours and weekend minimums | Applied from the job's actual times, so the crew never choose them | Not mentioned on their site |

| Every feature in one plan | Yes. No tiers and no add-ons | Plans set by jobs per month |

What that means for your office
Invoices out within minutes
The docket arrives priced and a draft invoice is waiting. You check it and send it to your accounting suite within minutes. More on the pricing matrix.

A minimum charge, set-up fee or after-hours loading lands on the invoice because your price list puts it there. Nobody has to remember it at the end of a long week.
No add-on bills
Safety, pre-starts, timesheets, quotes, assets and stock are in the one plan at no extra cost, and every new feature arrives as soon as it is ready.

Questions
Can I move from ServiceM8 to Core Docket?
Yes. We load your price list, rebuild your docket, set up your letterhead and help run your first job, at no charge. For customers and other records, ring us on 0468 160 029 and we'll work out what makes sense.
Does Core Docket work with Xero and MYOB?
Yes. Invoices go to Xero or MYOB with your account codes and GST tax codes, as drafts or approved. In Xero the signed docket PDF is attached to the invoice; MYOB does not accept it. Xero and MYOB are connected today, and if you use other accounting software, Core Docket will build the connection where it is possible. More on Xero and MYOB.
Is everything included?
Yes. One plan with every feature: dockets, pricing, scheduling, invoicing, safety and SWMS, pre-starts, timesheets, quotes, stock, the asset register and equipment hire, all at no extra cost. New features arrive as soon as they are available, and updates are free.
Is Core Docket only for concrete cutting?
No. It suits any trade business whose crew do the work on site while the office invoices, from one person to a crew of any size. It is strongest where work is priced per metre, per hole, per hour or per item.
