The docket is finished
The crew record the work, the rate card prices it, and the customer signs.

A draft invoice is made
Finishing the docket creates a draft invoice from its priced lines, including minimums, callout fees and set-up fees.

You check it
Edit a line, add a materials charge or fix a description. If an item is priced by hand, such as waste bags, type the price in here. Nothing goes to the accounts until you send it.

You send it to Xero or MYOB
The invoice is created in your accounting system as a draft or as approved, whichever you choose. Xero or MYOB then produce and send the invoice in their own format.

Account and GST codes
Set account codes and GST tax codes company-wide, per section, per item or on a single line. Your bookkeeper sees sales coded the way they set up the books.
Customers in sync
Customers can be synced between Core Docket and Xero or MYOB, so a new customer is not set up twice.
Payment status
Core Docket checks payment status back from Xero or MYOB, so you can see which dockets have been paid without opening the books.

A company connects one or the other. With MYOB, the customer still gets the signed docket PDF by email when the docket is finished.
Combined invoices and multi-day jobs
Builders and account customers often want one invoice a month. Long jobs run over several days. Both come together on one invoice.
- Combined invoices: filter dockets by customer and dates, tick them all and put them on one invoice, such as a month of work for one builder.
- Multi-day jobs: a job booked across several days keeps one job number, and each day's docket adds to the one draft invoice, with lines prefixed by the day.
- A line priced at $0, such as an item you price by hand, is marked "No price yet", and sending to Xero or MYOB asks you to confirm first.
Which accounting systems
Core Docket is connected to Xero and to MYOB today. Your bookkeeper keeps working in the books they know, with invoices that arrive already coded. Timesheets are separate: approved weeks export as a payroll file your bookkeeper imports, and nothing is pushed to payroll. Both connections are included in the one Core Docket plan, with no accounting add-on.

Using other accounting software

Questions
Does Core Docket work with Xero and MYOB?
Yes. A company connects either Xero or MYOB, and invoices are sent with account codes and GST tax codes, as a draft or approved.
Is the signed docket attached to the invoice?
In Xero, yes: the signed docket PDF is attached to the invoice. MYOB does not accept the attachment from us, so with MYOB the customer gets the docket PDF by email instead.
Are invoices sent automatically when the crew finish?
A draft invoice is made automatically when a docket is finished. The office checks it and sends it to Xero or MYOB, so nothing reaches your books unchecked.
Can I put a month of dockets on one invoice?
Yes. Filter dockets by customer and dates, tick the ones you want and combine them onto one invoice.
Using other accounting software?
Xero and MYOB are connected today. If you use other accounting software, Core Docket builds the connection to it where it is possible. Ring 0468 160 029 to talk it through.
Does Core Docket send timesheets to Xero or MYOB payroll?
No. Approved timesheets export as a payroll file your bookkeeper imports. Core Docket does not calculate pay rates.
Does Core Docket make its own invoice PDF?
No. The invoice the customer receives is produced by Xero or MYOB in their format. Core Docket makes the signed docket PDF on your letterhead.
