Pricing software for trades that follows your rate card
Your rate card already says how the work is charged: by the hour, by the item, by the metre, by the hole or by the load. Core Docket holds that rate card and prices each docket line as the crew fill it in, whether that is an hour of labour, a load of waste or a core hole priced by diameter and depth. You stop pricing dockets by hand and spend that time checking the odd job that needs a second look.
Free for a month, no credit card. Every feature included: no tiers, no add-ons, free updates.
Priced the way the work is measured
A price list is made of sections, such as Labour, Installation, Waste removal or Core drilling. Each section has the options the crew pick from and the measurement they enter.
Options and a measurement
Labour can be priced by the hour or the minute, a fitting by the item, waste by the load, and in concrete cutting a core hole by diameter and depth per 10 mm or a saw cut by depth per metre. The crew pick the option, enter the measurement, and the line is priced for them.
"How many" counts
A section can ask how many. Three cuts of 31 m price as one cut and bill as a quantity of 3, and six units fitted bill as 6 times the per-item price, so the invoice reads the way the customer expects.
Percentages from a base
An option can be priced as another option plus a percentage, such as a difficult-access rate at Standard plus 50%, or in cutting, Inverted at Standard plus 100%. Change the base price and the others move with it.
A worked example
One docket from a core drilling and sawing job, some of the hardest pricing in trade work. The crew picked the options and entered the measurements. Everything else came from the rate card.
| Line | What the crew entered | Rate card (example) | Line total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core drilling, 150 mm | 4 holes, 250 mm deep | $0.90 per 10 mm, never less than $60 per hole | 4 × $60 = $240.00 |
| Core drilling, 100 mm inverted | 2 holes, 400 mm deep | Standard $0.80 per 10 mm, Inverted at Standard plus 100% | 2 × $64 = $128.00 |
| Flat sawing, 150 mm deep | 3 cuts of 12 m | $14.00 per metre | 3 × $168 = $504.00 |
| Callout fee | Nothing, it applies to every docket | $150.00 fixed | $150.00 |
| Docket total (ex GST) | $1,022.00 |

Minimums, callout fees and set-up fees
The charges that make a small job worth doing are part of the rate card, so they are not forgotten on a busy Friday.
- A "never less than" minimum on each price, per unit, so a short job still bills at your minimum, or a shallow core hole at your per-hole minimum.
- A minimum invoice amount for the whole docket.
- Callout fees, levies and surcharges on every docket, on customers in one price group, or on one section only, as a fixed dollar amount or a percentage.
- Section minimums, such as $850 across a section's lines, and one minimum shared by several sections, such as two kinds of specialist work booked together.
- Set-up or establishment fees charged once per docket when a section is used.
After-hours and weekend loadings
A charge or a minimum can apply only inside a time window or on certain days: a night-work minimum, a Saturday loading, a Sunday callout. Core Docket works it out from the job's actual times on the docket, so the crew never have to remember to tick "after hours" and you never have to argue about it later.
If a job starts at 5 am and runs into ordinary hours, the times on the docket decide what applies. Our guide to minimum charges and after-hours rates walks through how trade businesses set these up.

Questions
Can Core Docket price core drilling by diameter and depth?
Yes. A core drilling section can have the diameter as an option and the depth as the measurement, priced per 10 mm, with a minimum per hole. The crew pick the diameter and enter the depth, and the line is priced from your rate card.
Can one price be worked out from another?
Yes. An option can be priced as another option plus a percentage, for example Inverted at Standard plus 100% in concrete cutting. When you change the standard price, the other price follows it.
Do the crew have to choose the after-hours rate?
No. After-hours and weekend charges and minimums apply by time window and day, worked out from the job's actual times on the docket.
Can different customers be charged different rates?
Yes. Customers can be put on a price group, and individual prices can be overridden for one customer. Callout fees and surcharges can also apply to a single price group.
Do I have to type my price list in myself?
No. You send us your rate card as a PDF, spreadsheet or photos, and our team loads it and checks every price before you start. There is no charge for this.
Can the crew see the prices?
Only if you let them. "See prices" is a permission you switch on or off for each person.
